First off Philip, thanks a ton with the newest updates to RarmaRadio. I'm using Win7 64-bit and everything works great... actually it even works better than when I used to use XP 32-bit! That weird disappearing volume hasn't happened since I've upgraded, which was a big pain in the neck! So far so good with Windows 7 and RR.
My question is about this Octoshape thing I read about in the Radio Paradise page. Here's the page (scroll down to Octoshape Links):
http://www.radioparadise.com/content.php?name=ListenIt seems like the only way to listen to the 192k stream is to use Octoshape (never heard of this before).
Here's the text from that page:
Quote:Octoshape is a stream distribution system that connects you to a "mesh network" of other RP listeners rather than a central server. This is the only way to access our super-hifi 192k MP3 stream, and many listeners find that the Octoshape streams are more reliable and less prone to buffering and dropouts. The 192k MP3 stream plays through Windows Media Player by default, but after you've installed the plugin (see link below), you can right-click on it and select "Settings" and tell it to play through your default MP3 player (Winamp, iTunes, etc.) instead. Octoshape links require you to download & install the Octoshape plug-in. It's available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. If you have any problems, please contact Octoshape tech support.
Here's the Octoshape homepage:
